RED
The color red can represent LOVE, ANGER, WARNING or DEATH. Red is a "strong" color, used for intense emotions and concepts. It can symbolize death because red is the color of blood. Because red is the color of blood, it is most frequently used as the color of the HEART. It is also sometimes connected with embarrassment because people sometimes flush bright red. Other times, it is used to represent anger because people's faces turn bright red.
Red is also associated with the first chakra, located at the base of the spine. Red, therefore, can represent all the basic things that we need for survival, all those things that give us security, those things that allow us to live.
Because it is the most easily visible color in the spectrum, red is frequently associated with warning or danger, the things that threaten our security. We use a red light to indicate we need to stop. Many warning lights on equipment flash red. We use the term "code red" for high alert.
Red is also a symbol of power and prestige. We roll out the "red carpet" for VIPs.
The color of molten lava, red is also associated with heat. We refer to something that is really hot as "red hot." Fire trucks used to be painted red.

This is the Varley Fire Truck, from Sydney Australia...even better when full of good looking firemen. (or when you are crammed in an elevator with them. Don't ask me how this was allowed to happen. They must have known it was just a drill...lol)

RUBY RED SLIPPERS
In the original book called “The Wonderful Wizard of OZ” written by
L.Frank Baum,
Dorothy actually wore silver slippers. Go to the following link, to get a whole new spin on this timeless, classic story, and how many suggest that it was written as a cover for the Political unrest of the 50's, and on deeper retrospection, had a very strong feminist undercurrent and theme running through the story.
AUSTRALIA VS WIZARD OF OZ
This is one of the most beautiful, powerful movies I've ever seen. This video focuses on the beauty and happy moments of this epic film. The song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" was a frequent melody throughout the movie. The Song “Somewhere over the Rainbow”
was used, because when Nullah was told the story called “The Wizard of OZ”, he could relate it to his own Dreamtime stories he had learned about the “Rainbow Serpent”

one of the top 5 deadliest spiders, and they live in Australia. I sat next to one on my front step a couple of years back. They are normally quite shy, and not aggressive. If you do get a bite, you need to head off to an emergency dept, and these days anti-venom will fix you up.
