Orange is the colour of the Sacral chakra

Also known as Svadhisthana. This chakra is located beneath the naval, close to the genitals. The Sacral Chakra is linked to the sexual organs and reproductive system.

Opening this chakra will free fertility and inherent creativity. The Sacral chakra stimulates sexuality and emotions.

MONKS IN ORANGE

Monks of the Theravada tradition of Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Thailand wear plain saffron or ochre robes. This reddish-yellow (orange) colour is called kasaya or kasava in Pali sources and kashaya in Sanskrit sources. These monks wear these simple robes in emulation of the Buddha's humble garb and to represent their own detachment from the physical world in their pursuit of enlightenment.

Orange in general represents Hinduism. Hindu swamis traditionally wear orange robes. The significance of orange as the colour for Hindu swamis is commonly thought to be connected to the idea that orange symbolises fire. Renunciates' fiery ochre robes display outwardly the inner transformation that is happening - the burning of ego, their former selves, and their personal wants.

I remember in the early 80's, whilst working as a check-out-chick at Harris Farm Markets, we used to see whole families dressed in orange coming in to load up trolleys full of fruit and veg.
